There are many ways to get involved with the things Sustainable Frome is doing, and we always need new people to bring their energy and time to our various projects. You can contact the different groups directly (see the individual pages for the groups and projects that are active); come and meet us at a meeting or event; or check this page for groups that are looking for help now.
How about some of the following?
Incredible Edible Frome has been given the chance to grow fruit, veg, bee-friendly and butterfly-friendly plants in Victoria Park and in planters around town. They’ll need help in all sort of areas: planning and design of beds; planting and propagation; fundraising; working with schools; publicity – and much more. Check details by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
Finance: We are looking for some one to keep an eye on finances on a day to day basis, paying in cheques and cash from meetings, and writing out cheques when necessary. Many of our groups like to keep the money they raise separate from general funds, so keeping track of the amounts held by each group is important. The beauty of this job is that it allows some one to see all the things going on in Sustainable Frome, and help them achieve their aims. Our current finance administrator will help hand over the books. Contact email@example.com.
Website editor: Are you interested in updating this website? Built around a WordPress blog, the most important aspect of maintaining this website is to make sure details of meetings and events are updated in good time. We would also like someone to check what information is held on here for the different groups and campaigns and make sure it stays up-to-date, as well as adding new posts into the Talking Points section and checking comments. If you can also take pictures to add colour and interest to the website, that would be great. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Holacracy facilitators: For someone with a professional interest in facilitation, or managing organisations, this is an excellent opportunity to learn about the radical new way of running organisations called holacracy. You can find out a bit more about how we use holacracy and how it works on our holacracy page. We need a couple of facilitators to help with meetings, and you will receive some training to help you get familiar with the processes. Contact email@example.com.
